Shane Crawford and his well performed Tassa Gold Fever won the Hamish MacCallum Memorial Open Non-Pro event with a score of 223 and backed it up with 220 in the Tri-Star QHS Open for four place.
It was unfortunate that there were only a small number of specators to see an encore performance of the 'Michael Jackson' of the cutting world. One Hellofa Spin is the all time highest money earning horse in Australia, with wins including the NCHA Cutting Triple Crown. Owner Raelene Higgins brought her out of the brood mare paddock and prepared her for this class before she returns to breeding. The exciting mare displayed all her wonderful talent in the Tri-Star QHA Open, however former riding partner Rob Hodgeman had to work hard to keep up with the mega star. They scored 218 for fifth place.
Craig Emerton rode the Tri Star Quarter Horse Stud's resident stallion, Winderadeen Short N Smart to produce a wonderful performance and score 223 for first place in the Tri-Star QHS Open. Earlier in the day. K. Moran rode this talented stud to win the 8 Mile Ranch Youth event.
Graham Lamey riding M. Lowrey's, Spins Special FX to score 216 for sixth place in the Tri-Star QHS Open.
